Complete Modding Guide For Living With Sister: Monochrome Fantasy

Greetings, fellow enthusiasts! Allow me to introduce you to a couple of mods that have been available (and still are) during the game’s Work-In-Progress phase. But before we delve into that, let’s address a few key points.

Firstly, I want to clarify that I am not affiliated with these mods in any way. While I’ll endeavor to keep this guide current, if you encounter compatibility issues or wish to inquire about adding specific elements, please reach out to the developers.

Due to Search Engines’ strict stance on external links, I won’t be including any here. (I’ve already encountered issues with links in this guide twice. Google’s automated checks seem to have a dislike for the F95 forum.)

However, I’ll provide hints on where you can locate and download the mods mentioned. It’s important to note that all mods mentioned require installation by overwriting existing files, so remember to create a backup copy of the game beforehand!

Preparation:

To prepare for mod installation, it’s essential to decrypt the game files first. Here’s a step-by-step guide:

1. Download the Wolf Decrypter from GitHub.
2. Once downloaded, navigate to the “Data” folder of the game.
3. Drag and drop the Wolf Decrypter into the “Data” folder.
4. Select all the .wolf files within the folder.
5. Drag and drop these .wolf files onto the Wolf Decrypter application.
6. Wait until the command shell window closes, indicating that the decryption process is complete.
7. After decryption, you can safely delete the .wolf files from the folder.

Installation:

Once you’ve completed the decryption process, installing mods is a straightforward task. Just follow these simple steps:

1. After decrypting the game files, locate the mod files you wish to install.
2. Drag and drop these mod files directly into the game’s base directory.
3. When prompted, choose to overwrite any existing files with the mod files.
4. That’s it! Your mods should now be installed and ready to use.

It’s as easy as drag-and-drop, so no need to worry about any complicated installation procedures.

Uncensoring:

Ah, I see! Let’s refer to these as patches then. Here are the options available for uncensoring:

1. Official patch by Kagura Games.
2. Fan Patch by mello.second.
3. Synthesis: Official patch + Fan Patch (This combines both patches, addressing any discrepancies between the two).

Feel free to choose the patch that suits your preferences.

Fan Translation:

It seems there’s a fan translation available, crafted by Shadesishere, which many find superior to the official translation. However, there’s a caveat:

Shadesishere’s translation is derived from the Japanese version, which is set to receive an official bug fix along with the DLC release soon. On the other hand, the version available on Steam is based on the English version, which has its own set of issues and potential conflicts. Therefore, if you’re eager for the improved translation, you may need to await the fix or opt to download the Japanese version from the F95 forum.

FFFox mod:

Introducing the FFFox mod, created by BlueFireNick. This mod introduces various scenes, including a Kitsune version of your imouto (available in NG+), alongside quality-of-life enhancements and translation improvements.

Importantly, it maintains game balance throughout. It’s recommended to explore this mod during your initial playthrough rather than treating it solely as post-game content after completing the game.

It’s worth noting that this mod is compatible with the Steam version, although it will likely overwrite a significant portion of the game’s translation. Specifically, Kagura’s translation will be replaced with the fan-made one, so exercise caution when installing.

Coloring:

Introducing Coloring, a mod crafted by Daseson, created by fans for fans. This mod is fully compatible with both FFFox and uncensor mods. The developer suggests installing this mod last to minimize potential conflicts with other mods. For those who prefer a simpler installation process, an automatic installer option is available.

Godly Brother mod:

Introducing the Godly Brother mod, developed by GodlyBrother. This straightforward cheat menu mod enhances gameplay. It utilizes the Fan Translation, but unfortunately, it’s not compatible with the current Steam version. If you’re keen to use it, you’ll need to take appropriate action.

Final Words:

In conclusion, I extend my heartfelt gratitude to BlueFireNick for his unwavering patience in addressing repetitive inquiries from me, as well as to Mello.second, Daseson, and other comrades from F95 and Inusuku for their tireless dedication.

Should there be any errors in the guide or if the game undergoes updates rendering the mods obsolete, your feedback is greatly appreciated!

Lastly, it’s worth noting that Shadesishere’s translation is widely criticized as subpar, bordering on machine-translated gibberish. In fact, the FFFox mod had to implement its own corrections to rectify some of the glaring issues stemming from Shadesishere’s work.
