Gigantic: Rampage Edition – How To Remap Your Controller

Unlocking full control customization in “Gigantic: Rampage Edition” is crucial for optimizing your gaming experience. Explore advanced techniques for remapping your controller beyond the game’s default settings. Maximize your gameplay potential with personalized configurations tailored to your playstyle, ensuring seamless and intuitive controls both in and out of battle.

Controller Remapping Guide For Gigantic: Rampage Edition

Selecting the Base Controller Setting

Within the game, there exist various controller configurations, and ideally, more will be added in the future. Thus, the initial task is to locate the configuration that closely matches your preferences. This minimizes the need for extensive remapping later on and potentially alleviates navigation challenges within menus.

Personally, I opted for the “Simplified” and “Default” configurations as they assigned the Focus ability to the Triangle button on my Dualshock controller, aligning with my preference.

While there may not be significant differences among the current options, even a single remap saved can prove advantageous.

Configuring Steam for Controller Usage

To set up Steam with your controller:

1. With your controller connected to your computer and recognized by Steam, navigate to the following in Steam:

Steam > Settings

2. In the Settings menu, access the “Controller” tab on the left-hand side.

3. Under “External Gamepad Settings,” activate the option titled “Enable Steam Input for [insert controller type].” For instance, for a Dualshock controller, select the option corresponding to “generic controllers.”

Additionally, depending on your controller, you may need to perform an extra step:

Right-click on “Gigantic” in your Steam library and select “Properties.” In the Controller tab, under the Override dropdown menu, choose “Enable Steam Input.”

Customizing Controller Layouts in Steam:

To remap controls in Steam for Gigantic:

1. Right-click on Gigantic in your Steam library.

2. Select “Manage” followed by “Controller Layout.”

3. Click “Edit Layout” to begin customizing.

4. Navigate to each section you wish to modify, saving your changes as you progress. There’s a reset option available if needed.

Alternatively, if you prefer, you can use a published layout.

Limitations:

As mentioned earlier in the guide, adjusting control mappings can lead to cumbersome menu navigation, primarily because in-game control graphics do not update accordingly. To mitigate this issue, I personally switch to keyboard and mouse for menu navigation while utilizing the controller for actual gameplay.

I strongly advise contributing to the “Suggestions to Improve Controller Experience” thread in the “Feedback and Suggestions” forum on the Official Discord. By adding your vote to request developers implement full controller remapping, we can anticipate improved menu usability in the future, along with accurate graphics representation for Xbox controller users.
