Sker Ritual: Lavernock Easter Egg Unveiled

In this guide, I’ll walk you through the steps to finish the unassisted quest for navigating the map of the Cursed Land of Lavernock! When I tackled the quest myself, I realized there were no available guides, so I’m sharing these instructions in hopes of assisting others on their journey!


A Guide to Conquering the Uncharted Realm of Lavernock in Sker Ritual

Step 1: Finish the Main Guided Quest

Your first task is to complete the main guided quest marked on the map. Just follow the hints displayed on the top left of your screen. I’ll create a separate guide for this in the future, but I suggest trying to figure it out yourself for a fun challenge in the game!

After defeating the first boss, you’ll be asked if you want to stay on the map. To start the unguided quest, make sure you choose not to leave the level!

Step 2: Target the Mysterious Figure

Once you’ve finished the boss battle, a purple contraption will materialize beside the exit. Engage with this device to summon the stranger near it.

Now that the stranger has manifested, take aim and shoot at him. This action will cause him to vanish. Repeat this process three more times, totaling four shots at the stranger. His spawning points may vary in each game, but below are several locations where he has been observed. Typically, he appears in out-of-bounds sections of the map.

Stranger Locations

  • Old Chapel
  • Chapel Grounds
  • Lavernock Point
  • Farm Lands
  • Main Chamber
  • Laboratory

Feel free to share any additional locations you discover in the comments. I’ll keep updating this guide with more locations as they’re uncovered.

Step 3: Statue Head Encounter

After shooting all four strangers, head to the Old Library. Interact with the statue head here. This action will trigger a wave of enemies that you’ll need to defeat.

Step 4: Gather Code from Rats

In this step, our objective is to obtain a code. Look for purple illuminated symbols scattered across the map, each surrounded by a group of rats. Take note of the number of rats accompanying each symbol.

For instance, if you encounter 4 rats near the dragon symbol, remember it as: DRAGON 4

Here are some known locations:

  • Morgue wooden hallways
  • Chapel Grounds
  • Caverns
  • Broadcast Room (Bottom Level)
  • Laboratory
  • Main Chamber
  • Farmlands
  • Broadcast Room (Top Floor)

Remember, this list will be updated as more locations are uncovered. Don’t hesitate to comment if you find any not on the list! Also, listen closely for sounds emitted by these symbols as you approach them.

Step 5: Arrange the Statues

By now, you should have a list of symbols and their corresponding numbers, like this:

CAT 4, DRAGON 2 etc.

We’ll utilize this list to determine which symbol belongs to each statue in the Chapel Catacombs.

Head to the Chapel Catacombs, where you’ll find four statues labeled with Roman numerals: I, II, III, IV. Interact with the symbol wheel on each statue and align the symbols accordingly.

For instance, based on the provided list, the statue marked with IV should display the CAT symbol. You’ll know you’ve succeeded when you hear a distinct sound cue and receive a quote.

Step 6: Activate the Generators

Now, you’ll encounter five generators scattered around the map that need to be powered up. To activate them, use the Thunderbolt weapon and shoot each generator. These five locations remain constant in every game.

Note: There’s a time constraint involved, although I’m unsure of the exact duration. If you delay between powering up generators, they may reset, requiring you to shoot them again. However, once all five generators are activated, they should remain powered.

Here are the five locations:

1. Chapel Catacombs
2. Facility Entrance
3. Hatch Service Entrance
4. Laboratory
5. Lavernock Point

Step 7: Safeguard the Lamb

Now, it’s time to escort the lamb once again, but this time, our route spans from one end of the map to the other. The journey begins in the Chapel Catacombs, behind the depicted bars:

Position yourself close to the lamb and accompany it until you arrive at the designated area, where the door will open.

Step 8: Obtain Item from Hidden Chamber

This step is relatively straightforward. Once the door opens after escorting the lamb, proceed inside and head to the rear of the room. You’ll find an item on a pedestal towards the back, which you can pick up.

Upon grabbing the item, expect another wave of enemies to spawn. Take them out methodically, ensuring the area is clear, then exit the chamber.

Step 9: Confront the Ultimate Adversary!

Congratulations, you’ve reached the climax! After successfully completing the preceding step, return to the location where you previously battled the boss in the guided quest. Locate the machine that appeared after defeating the initial boss fight.

Interact with the top circle of the machine to initiate the showdown with the final boss! This is the ultimate test of your skills and strategy. Good luck!

Regarding the Boss Encounter:

Prepare for a tougher challenge! The final boss fight closely resembles the first one but with increased difficulty. As you’re likely on a higher round by now, expect a significant surge in enemy spawns, including abominations.

Interestingly, there seems to be a fixed limit on the number of enemies that can be present in the room simultaneously. So, if you’re adept at maneuvering and evading, you can manage the situation by leading them around without engaging in combat.

Focus your firepower on Abraham until he’s defeated, and congratulations, you’ve conquered the unguided quest! From there, you have the option to continue playing or exit via the pod located in the boss room.
